Abstract

The objective of this work is to analyze the impacts of the campaign “My vote will be feminist” for the representation of women in the Brazilian political public sphere in the 2018 elections, considering aspects such as representation, redistribution and the presence of women in political spaces.  The challenge to the representation of women in the public sphere can be understood from the public / private dichotomy, which relegates them to the domestic sphere.  In this sense, feminist political theory uses these terms to question the isolation of women in the family sphere, which for a long time prevented their participation in decisions and deliberations that took place in the public sphere.  As such, the methodological aspects concern the analysis of data on the internet, with consultations to the websites of that campaign, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics and the Superior Electoral Court.  In addition, the literature review includes discussions involving the concepts of public sphere and representation, developed by Jürgen Habermas and Nancy Fraser, respectively.  Finally, it is argued that the development of the Campaign for the 2020 municipal elections is a path to greater participation, representation and representation of women in the Brazilian political public sphere.
