The feeling of childhood in Brazil

Abstract

The feeling of childhood, as presented by Ariès (2016), gained new meanings over time and according to family and cultural relationships in each society. Despite the limitations, the feeling of childhood was formed in Brazil, starting from the colonization project, and today it takes the form of Integral Protection. Thus, the aim of this article is to face the question: is it possible to decolonize the feeling of childhood? Therefore, we will carry out an exploratory methodology, through bibliographic and documentary procedures, from specialized literature related to decolonization, concepts, the formulation of the idea of ​​child for the colonizer and for the colonized, the influence of legal (and constitutional) provision in the understanding of childhood in Brazil today. We will seek, therefore, to understand that the decolonization of the feeling of childhod requires, initially, the recognition that there are limitations in the process of decolonization itself, in addition to an almost complete isolation of the child from the production space of a proper perception of what it means to be a child, with the idea that he is an adult in training and that he needs an adult to express himself and fulfill his rights.
