La educación como sistema social
una introducción a la teoría de Niklas Luhmann

Este artículo introduce la teoría de sistemas sociales de Niklas Luhmann aplicada a la educación. Desde esta perspectiva, la educación no es un proceso de transmisión de conocimientos, sino un sistema de comunicación que busca provocar cambios en la conciencia sin poder controlarlos ni verificarlos directamente. Esta imposibilidad genera una tensión constitutiva: la educación debe prometer aprendizajes, pero solo puede producir comunicaciones. Para gestionar esta paradoja, el sistema educativo combina interacción y organización. La interacción permite aproximarse a las conciencias, aunque sin eliminarlas como entorno, en tanto la organización estabiliza decisiones, desplazando como resultado la atención hacia procedimientos verificables. El artículo identifica tres líneas de investigación claves desde este enfoque: la transformación tecnológica de la interacción, la expansión organizacional y la inflación de expectativas, resaltando los límites del sistema educativo moderno.
