To understand what neoliberalism is, we identify three main approaches: 1) economic policy – a political project to reestablish conditions for capital accumulation and to restore power of economic elites; 2) state model and public policies – a small state with regard to social policies (almost always outsourced), but strong to imprint on society the brands and values of the market and exercise control over society; 3) a neoliberal ethics – the idea that “each one is responsible for his own life and socioeconomic situation.†Neoliberal ethics, which serves as an ideology to support the dismantling of the Welfare State, affect women in a special way: falls on them the weight of greater individualization of the idea of care (more and more attributed to the family and less to the state), without guaranteeing equal opportunities in the public space (in politics or at work). The purpose of the paper is to demonstrate how Marxist feminism contributes to a more forceful criticism of neoliberalism. From Angela Davis, it is argued by the pressing need for the socialization of domestic tasks as means for evidencing collective responsibility for the care and well-being of humans in society.
