Abstract

This study proposes a discussion of the relationship between the Covid-19 pandemic and the living and health conditions of black women in Brazil. The defense of human rights echoes more strongly and becomes more necessary in times of crisis, because the dignity of the human person and citizenship can be threatened by the measures taken to contain them. Black women have a historical situation of discrimination and social exclusion that accentuate the social distance in relation to other social segments. The research is bibliographic and documentary based on international regulations, topics on the pandemic and national legislation and national policies for black women. The relationship between the Covid-19 pandemic and the living and health conditions of black women in Brazil transcends the purely biological factors of the body, because gender, racial and class inequalities influence cumulative disadvantages so that the impacts of the disease are more severe and negative for this group of women.
