Uma análise a partir da Prostituição no Centro de Guanambi/BA

Abstract

The present research emerges from a theoretical and methodological construction based on the Social Construction of the Urban Space that must occur observing the guidelines of the Social Functions of the City, a linear objective of the Brazilian Urban Policy. In this context, it is highlighted that the construction of space requires an analysis correlated with the social agents, responsible for producing and shaping the urban space. In this light, there is a need to outline methods and guidelines for multidisciplinary studies, considering the sociological and legal-urban nuances. Thus, considering that the social context is coated with several phenomena outside the urban policy, in this research, prostitution in the center of Guanambi was analyzed, in the dynamics of the social construction of space as correspondence to urban politics. Thus, the present work followed a methodology that was built, based on a triangulation of theoretical and practical data, defining: a) Urban Policy and the Right to the City; b) Space Producing Agents; and, c) Prostitution as a social function. To understand this triad, it became necessary to study geographic space and social relations, using the case study method and field research and in a complementary way to geotechnologies. As a result, it was understood that prostitution has functions in the construction of the central space in Guanambi / BA.
